Edited to add… Never mind! It’s called TRACK THREAD and it’s right up there! Sorry!! I’d delete this whole thing, but perhaps someone else didn’t notice it, either.
Is there any chance to have a watched thread option?
I know I can click the little box that I would like to be emailed if there is a reply, but I don’t see anything for threads I didn’t originate.
As this site grows, and there are more and more things I need to remember and want to check, being able to watch threads would really be a treat.
Thank you for considering this! 🙂
November 24, 2008 at 4:34 pm #171117jezMemberhehe! Yeah “Track Thread”. Does it work OK? I don’t use that functionality in forums. I prefer to use “new posts”.
Does it just email out every time someone posts in the thread?
November 24, 2008 at 4:56 pm #171122SerendipMemberThanks for being so nice about this, Jez!
It doesn’t email at all! From the “Main” Forum page scroll down to the info section where it tells you how many new posts, if you’ve read any of them, etc. There is a clickable link at the end of that section, “List Tracked Threads” and if you click, it shows the tracked threads at the top of the regular main forum page!
It’s great!! 🙂

November 26, 2008 at 6:42 pm #171118jezMemberCool – so it’s working OK? How dare your filters think SammyNetbook.com mails are spam!!
This site is for the community so where I can I will give peeps what they want. Emphasis on the “where I can” though lol!
August 8, 2009 at 10:59 am #171126G6JPGMemberA thought: how about:
threads you contribute to, or originate, automatically defaulting to being tracked? I can see advantages and disadvantages.
I would have done this as a poll, but can’t see how to (I’ve never done one, and maybe they aren’t available except to the starter of a thread anyway?)
Of course, if this is already the default, ignore me … 🙂
August 10, 2009 at 4:08 pm #171119jezMemberI am not sure this CMS system allows it, but it is not something I would like myself. It would need to be configurable per user so you can set your own preference.
e107 feature requests can be added here:
http://e107.org/e107_plugins/ideas/ideas.phpI’m sure something like this would help user interaction with the forum, but I would want people to have the opportunity to switch off default subscriptions as there are some sites where I do not want to track the hundreds of threads I contribute (spam) to.

When this site was starting I would comment on every single NC10 thread, blog, review, etc I could find. Normally a well considered and hopefully thoughtful post though :)!
August 23, 2009 at 8:59 pm #171127sidudeMemberMaybe a move to vBulletin!?
August 23, 2009 at 9:10 pm #171121jezMemberDefinitely a consideration, either that or phpbb3.
August 24, 2009 at 4:32 pm #171124ParodyMemberI also disable the auto subscribe/follow/track/etc. feature on forums that have them. The last thing I want is a bunch of spam telling me there’s new posts on a forum I visit every day. (Well, there would be spam if I didn’t also disable most of the features that cause the forum to email me. :)
