Home › Forums › Samsung Netbook Forums › Netbook Applications › VLC player – dont want the sammy to auto dim while watching movies
I know I can manually change the display settings, but I’d rather have VLC run in some sort of exception mode so that it doesnt auto dim after X minutes. It is treating it as if things are inactive ont he netbook (which they are sorta), but obviously I am watching a movie… so…
Anyone have a solution for that?
In the Samsung Battery Manager, have you gone to Options/LCD Auto Dimming/Register Excluded Programs and selected VLC?
Be also sure to check that the .ini file in Samsung Battery Manager that saves the settings for “Register excluded program” is not write protected, I noticed that it was read-only after installing the latest version. Any questions how to fix these settings, just ask 🙂

Bingo… I added it to the exception list, but it didnt work after a quick test. so I opened up the ini file, locatd at:
C:Programs FilesSamsungSamsung Battery ManagerMediaList.ini
The file was set to read only 😛 So I had to go to properties and uncheck that. I added a new line at the bottom, numbering it properly and adding vlc.exe
Save and tested again and it worked. 8)
