I know there are a number of these around but can anybody help me in my quest?
I’m off to tour California in a motorhome and will record the highlights on my Sony camcorder (composite video output to 3 phono plugs).
I do not want to record the footage to the hard drive – merely play it on Sammy, full screen rather than the fiddling camcorder LCD panel. I’m not too fussed about TV reception although I guess it might come in handy. Possible problem with PAL v NTSC in the States.Any recommendations/advice/horror stories?

Thanks for your suggestion, Parody, but I’ve ended up getting a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR900H as their techie support assured me that it would work fine with the Sammie. Pleased to say that it does.
The usual problem with the supplied aerial – a bit iffy for some channels but I think that comes with the territory. Didn’t realise that it only works for UK & Europe – you need the HVR950 for the States, but I won’t be watching TV while on holiday and have the internet to see weather forecasts etc.
So after a bit of fiddling around I got my camcorder to output to full screen and it really is quite acceptable.
I didn’t load the EPG program, or the scheduler or even the remote control programs. Can’t see much point if I’m not going to use them and they just clutter up the works.Result!
