@Rsaeire: For testing I downloaded the latest version of Media Player Classic Home Cinema and The Dark Knight does not run very well on that one, the clip is jerky and the sound comes and goes.
I am running Media Player Classic version 6.4.9.0 and this one seems better.
The Dark Knight HD-trailers, .mov files, not .mkv. Are these good enough to test with? The trailers I’ve tested with before are .mkv – I’m trying to find the homepage I downloaded them from…

I tested “The Dark Knight” 1080p H.264 mkv file, as mentioned in my last post, using Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1 and CoreAVC Pro 1.8.5 and experienced stuttered playback. I have also tested the 1st “The Dark Knight” 1080p mov trailer from the link you provided, specifically “TDK_TRL2_best.mov”, using Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1 and CoreAVC Pro 1.8.5 and experienced flawless playback, no stuttering or dropped frames.Using Media Info to view the details of both files, the main difference, besides the file format, is the bitrate. The mov file has a video bitrate of 6.5 Mbps, while the mkv file has a video bitrate of 11 Mbps. This is the only discernible difference I can see that could be causing the stuttered playback, the increased bitrate.
February 7, 2009 at 2:10 pm #170089FreddyMemberOk – can you give me a link for some 1080P .mkv you have trouble viewing and I will test it.
I will check my videoclips with Mediainfo and post here when I know more…
UPDATE: Movieclips checked with Mediainfo, I cannot see bitrate for The Dark Knight clip but for others I can see it. I only downloaded these clips to test 1080P and the highest bitrate I have in any of the files is 10.1Mbps, this is a .mov file and runs smoothly at 24fps with no dropped frames (trailer for The Watchmen). I don’t have a .mkv file with that high bitrate though to test with – anyone know where to download such a clip?
There are some 1080P clips here:
Digital-Digest
H264info.com
to test with, I don’t know the bitrate though.[quote1234015638=Rsaeire]

I don’t have a link unfortunately, however, I have tested another high video bitrate 1080p H.264 mkv file with the same results as the previous file; stuttering and dropped frames. It seems from our combined testing that 1080p H.264 mov files, regardless of their video bitrate, playback successfully, whereas 1080p H.264 mkv files can only be played back if they are of a low video bitrate i.e. less than 8 Mbps. This can all be done on the NC10 with the use of Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1 and CoreAVC Pro 1.8.5.
MOV files
Low video bitrate = 6.5 Mbps
High video bitrate = 10.5 MbpsMKV files
Low video bitrate = 7.2 Mbps
High video bitrate = 11.6 MbpsFebruary 8, 2009 at 12:32 am #170090FreddyMemberI also think that could be the case yes. You can also try the 2012 trailer from Digital Digest – it’s an MP4 with high bitrate. It is a bit slow but no dropped frames, somewhere there is a line for what the NC10 can handle. But the interesting thing is that most 1080P-clips work without a problem!
