MemberI assumed that the NC10’s warranty is only 1-year. However, the warranty ceritficate included in my netbook indicates 3 years. This is generous particularly since Samsung also warrants the battery for the same period of time.
Could someone who has bought the NC10 in the US confirm this? Just in case I’m reading this wrong.

MemberInteresting… My drop in card says 3 years as well…

MemberThat would be exceptional for a laptop battery to be guaranteed for three years.

MemberYes, my card also says 3 years here in the u.s.

MemberHuh. How about that? It also says, “valid only on Samsung products purchased from Samsung…” Nothing about it having to be purchased from an authorized dealer.

MemberI can’t get mine repaired here in Hungary cause samsung doesnt sell notebooks here. So there… I’ll be either required to bring it to the UK or to Germany if anything happens with it. 🙁

MemberI checked the the samsung.com/us for NC10 specs and the product brochure indicated 1-year. However, I would think that we have a case for insisting on the 3-year warranty given the warranty certificate.

MemberMine purchased from Newegg says 3 years, website says 1 year. Did my online warranty registration and got an email giving me a FREE additional 3 MONTHS to my existing warranty (WHATEVER IT IS???). I just can’t find the part about my battery being covered 3 years however?

MemberI don’t have a card, but a six page pamphlet, which says three years, too. It doesn’t mention “purchased from Samsung” only, “…as supplied and distributed by Samsung…”
I registered with Samsung and the site said the one year would be extended three months, didn’t get an email.
Since we all have it in writing that it is THREE years, I think they would have to honor it, or their legal team would be quite busy proving otherwise.
Batteries aren’t mentioned anywhere, whether included or not. Hmmm.

Memberit depends on how they’ve worded what the warranty actually covers…
batteries can be considered peripheral to the actual device and the warranty may only be for the actual computer.December 5, 2008 at 8:33 pm #173880mauwong
MemberI browsed through the samsung.com/us and it specifically mentions that battery is covered under the warranty.
Refer to: NC10 Troubleshooting Guide / Reduced Battery Life or Battery Not Charging. It is noted that the battery is covered by the same term and conditions. If the netbook is on warranty, the battery will be replaced.

MemberYeah, how about that. The warranty pamphlet I received with my NC10 Black from newegg also states 3 years. Registered online and received an additional 3 months (I did get the e-mail from samsung post-registration).

MemberSorry. I just tried. the stated 3-year warranty will not be honored.. and I have a 100% dead notebook with no real reason of user-end cause. I never dropped/abused it.
Getting them to honor it is a huge YMMV.. as I have heard nobody of getting samsung to honor it beyond the 1 year + 3 months.
