And it cost me a lot to do it! Happy? You bet. Some reasons:
-The so called small difference in screen size is a BIG difference. Night & day.
-The “engineering” is simply not even comparable, at ANY level. Details abound on the Samsung, do not even exist on the Aspire One.
-Software=same story…..
-Fan noise, silent (so far) on Samsung, a “melody) on the Aspire One
-No glare vs ALL glare screen
-Battery life.
-Upgradeable=NO comparison
-Website support=NO comparison!
-Sound=A little better on Samsung
-Details? Too many to list. The venting on the Samsung vs the complete NON venting on my Aspire One! Keyboard and just ALL the many things professional reviews have already mentioned. The overall construction, feel, experience (for ME) is as different as night and day.
-NO concern about who makes best. I simply love my Samsung, yet found (but also liked) so many shortcoming’s on my Aspire One I was willing to return it and pay 15% restocking. SO happy I did!December 8, 2008 at 8:37 am #173998s162000MemberGood for you! I was going to get an Aspire One until I heard about the NC10.
Though for the price point (about £160 less for the linux version in the UK) the Aspire one is still a worthwhile alternative to the NC10 for some people. You could buy an extended battery, a copy of XP and a ram upgrade and still come out cheaper than the NC10.

As much as I have enjoyed using my NC10 I still have not really used any other netbook or laptop outside a quick play in currys or PC World etc.

[/quote1228729574]I am in the same boat. I was so interested in purchasing the Acer One but every time I saw it mentioned I kept seeing people say go for the NC10 so I decided maybe the extra would be worth it as it is a more powerful machine than my desktop PC (which the little one has now thinks is his LOL) and could take over many of the tasks without me battling the family for!
I had a look at the Acer in the stores but the NC10 felt so much nicer. I’m glad others had the same idea. 🙂
I’ve still not got one yet due to the QVC false alarm and now the Staples price hike but I’ll have one soon.
