MemberHello
My name is Jayne and I’m from Cardiff.
I have a black NC10 (my Christmas present from a devoted other half) which I’ve upgraded to 2 GB RAM and a triple boot OS. I’ve removed the recovery partition (I hate them) and split the hard drive into three almost equal partitions containing Windows XP, Windows 7, and Ubuntu.
I’m an independent IT Consultant with 35 years experience of computing. And yes, I’m that old (52), and I wrote my first program in Fortran Watfor in 1974 while I was still at school :((
Oh, and as Camo Yoshi has pointed out, I’m member number 777 !amazed

Blimey, 1974, I was only 3. Mind you 52 isn’t old, seasoned maybe but not old πJanuary 22, 2009 at 12:09 am #180825TCMuffin
MemberThank you for your kind words, Britman.
When I’m not supporting Wales, Liverpool is my team, after all they play in red…..only don’t tell my better half who’s from Bolton :p

[/quote1232649263]Hello 71notout.
The dog’s name is Badger.
He’s our border collie who we inherited from our vets after he’d had his left leg and shoulder shattered by being stepped on by a shire horse when he was only five weeks old !sad
The owner of the farm where he was born didn’t want to pay for his treatment and didn’t want him back because he wouldn’t be able to work and therefore wanted him euthanised ~:(
Our vets intervened and operated on him twice and then asked us to give him a home when he was 17 weeks old. We did and the farmer’s loss was our gain π
Badger still goes to hydrotherapy once a week (hence the photo) and has grown into a brilliant dog who comes to work with me most days !amazed

Thank you for the warm welcome, Becky.
I’m almost ashamed to say that Muffin is my other half’s nickname for me and TC is my nickname for my other half π

MemberWelcome to the site!
I must admit I looked up who member 666 was! Yikes!
Welcome to the forum Jayne. How are things in Cardiff, wet I expect ;)! I went to the millenium theatre thingy last year – very impressive. Makes our old shabby London theaters look very out of date.

MemberThank you for the warm welcome, Jez.
Surprisingly, the sun is shining in Cardiff this morning π
And thank you for the great forum, which I started using when trying to decide which netbook to buy. I’m looking forward to contributing.
