Ferrari and McLaren have unveiled their 2009 contenders and they look very different to last years cars (obviously) I think the Ferrari is the best looking so far. Can’t wait to see what the other times are going to come up with and how the pecking order is going to change. I have a feeling Ferrari may slip from the top. I’m hoping for a Williams revival!
January 16, 2009 at 2:38 pm #180084Dom01MemberCars are looking good! I will be cheering for McLaren as all ways and am hoping for a Ferrari slip! Dennis is stepping down tho so who knows what will happen. Will have to wait and see.
January 16, 2009 at 8:00 pm #180078BritmanMemberSorry but they have to be the worst looking F1 in the 20 years I’ve been watching it. Long gone are the days of the Jordan 7up car that Schumacher made his first appearance or the Tyrell which Jean Alesi drove masterfully in Phoenix. All these barn doors and winglets spoil the lines of the cars.
January 16, 2009 at 8:38 pm #180080s162000MemberLOL I agree! I didn’t say they were good looking… just that the Ferrari was the best of a bad (so far) bunch. They’ve just destroyed all of the design evolution of the F1 car in one fell swoop. Animals!
January 17, 2009 at 12:19 am #180077fatnbaldMemberThey look like the ones my lad makes out of lego lol!
January 19, 2009 at 10:42 am #180085Dom01MemberI admit that they don’t look teh best but they are very small this year which could make for some good racing and that is what its all about. I’m not sold on this KERS stuff but I can’t claim to completly understand it either. From what I have read it is like a turbo. I am looking forward to the new season.
January 19, 2009 at 2:27 pm #180081s162000MemberYeh the general idea (I think) is it saves kinetic energy and stores it as either mechanical or electrical energy that can be used strategically. It sure is going to be interesting and unpredicable and the teams who make the most of it are going to reap the benefits.
I can’t wait till Monaco, I wonder if anyone will actually finish LOLEdit: Oh man i’ve just seen the new Renault…. I dunno what the hell to make of that! It’s ugly, but at the same time stunning? LINK
January 19, 2009 at 3:42 pm #180086Dom01MemberI see what you mean! All the cars look very similar tbh but what I find so crazy is just how small they are. And how wide at the front. I think I am so excited about the new season because I really don’t know whats going to happen! More so than usual. I feel that anything could happen. But I still think it will be the same teams at the top 😉
January 19, 2009 at 4:44 pm #180082s162000MemberThis is more like it! A black beauty? I really hope Williams do well this year it would be sad to see such a historic team leave F1.
January 19, 2009 at 5:04 pm #180083PanManMemberalll that needs is some Gold JPS livery and it would look perfect 😀
January 19, 2009 at 5:25 pm #180079BritmanMemberI’ll second the touch of gold on the Williams.
I must admit I’m looking forward to this season more then I have in a long time. Will be interesting to see how the KERS system works out, whether it will give the over taking boost that’s promised. -
