In the January issue of most Hi-Fi magazines Richer Sounds are advertising their sale.
On their website the Tannoy F4 speakers (per pair) are £149.95 which is a very good price but take the magazine into a Richer Sounds store and you can walk out witha pair for the startling price of £119.95. I realise the RRP is pretty meaningless but they have a RRP of £400.
The matching centre speaker is just short of £50.
They are great for the stereo or two pairs for your 5.1.
I got 2 pairs plus matching centre for a little under £290 which I think is a bargain.
Just need a better subwoofer now!
I guess there are even less AV enthusiasts than motorcycle owners! Unless they just rushed off to Richer Sounds with replying!!
As a brief update they surpassed my expectations, there are two more large speakers at the rear out of picture!
The AV Receiver is a Sony STR-DA1200ES 7.1 – 100 watts per channel, although I am am using 5.1.
7.1 seems a little unnecessary as just about all film soundtracks are only encoded in Dolby 5.1.I have used the two unused rear channels to Biamp the front two speakers, an option available in the receiver menu.
