Hi, I’m new to the netbook world and maybe asking a silly question but my NC10 switches off every time I move it whilst it’s on battery power. Is this normal?
Welcome stuchy. 🙂
If you mean it goes off at the slightest movement, that’s not normal and seems to indicate a loose connection. If, however, you mean it goes off when you close the lid to move it from one location to another, then that is normal (going into standby to conserve power) and can be adjusted in the NC10’s power options.
If you could confirm which of those scenarios is the case, we’ll be able to figure out what’s happening. 🙂
I can confirm it goes of at the slightest movement. In which case should I return it to PC World and ask for a replacement?
Just checking, when you connected the battery to the laptop, one clip springs into place, the other has to be locked manually. Is the manual one locked?
Yep the manual clip is locked. I think it could be a loose conection?
It does sound like a loose connection somewhere.
Best take it back to PC World and ask for a replacement.
Great, thanks for your help!!!
