MemberHi all
I’ve noticed that my U key is only 50/50 in terms of responsiveness when i type quickly – if i hit U key by itself, and keep tapping, it’s fine – the problem seems to be when i do a quick key stroke BEFORE hitting U, then the U key is unresponsive. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? It’s starting to annoy me as the computer is about 2 weeks old, and has seen minimal use.
Thanks

MemberI have a normal serial port keyboard that has an unresponsive C key. Couldn’t fix it. 🙁
As your one is new, it’s probably worth the hassle getting it fixed under warranty.

MemberJust noticed today that I have the same problem with the ‘O’ key. That explains why I keep missing the ‘R’s when I touch type…
Anyway, I just have to tap it harder than the other keys. As it doesn’t bother me very much, I don’t think I’ll try to get it repaired.

MemberScratch that. This small problem is actually pretty annoying, especially when the rest of the machine is perfect. I’m going to send it to Samsung for service.
Gonna miss my NC10. 🙁
(Apparently they have some kind of administration fee (~$80 o.o) that you have to pay if they discover that the problem was caused by the customer. I’ve had this unresponsive key since I started the netbook for the first time, so I hope that I don’t have to pay).March 16, 2009 at 7:32 pm #182819kitt

[/quote1237231566]My Y key is like this if I press the right hand side of it. I noticed that there are some K/B screws on the underside of the computer, I wonder if one of those is a little too long and causing an obstruction.

Membermy ex-nc10 (white one) had a little bit of sticking issue with S key. I thought I spilled coke or something but it went away after a while, but it came back once in a while.
I’ve read somewhere that this is the issue with weak adhesive that attaches the keyboard to the laptop. I didn’t bother to take the laptop apart.
good luck

MemberMy “E” is having problems. Any fix?

MemberJust sent mine to Samung. I didn’t dare to do anything on my own, as I was afraid to make things worse – in that case, the service could’ve claimed that I caused the problem myself.
I’m still afraid that they’ll either post it back and say that they didn’t find any problem (it’s not easily noticeable unless you type fast) or claim that it was my own fault. Ah, the angst.
Let’s hope they’ll leave a good first impression.

MemberOK, just got it back. No need to pay, huzzah! The reparation note said “bent connector on the O key”. OK, great.
The annoying thing is that I still have this problem. 🙁
How do I remove the key, and is there any risk doing so?
–
Edit: OK, so I removed the keycap. There was something square underneath my ‘O’ key (but not under ‘I’ or ‘W’). Weird. I removed it, hoping that everything would be solved now. Apparently it didn’t make any difference. What to do now? :/
