MemberHi,
I am thinking of buying a Samsung NC10 and wanted to know if I will be able to connect okay to my Orange Livebox……..I am a little concerned about the wi-fi issues that seem to occur frequently with this notebook. Is there anyone in the UK with a livebox that has had problems? or equally anyone who has been able to connect without issues?
Help greatly appreciated as it may sway my decision to buy
many thanks

MemberWelcome to the site tarotgaladriel.
I don’t have any experience with the Orange Liverbox but it should work just fine with the NC10.
Those that have had problems usually manage to resolve them by updating the wireless LAN drivers anyway.

MemberThanks for the welcome adatay92……I am hoping it will be fine too, as I have really set my heart on this netbook for my birthday.
Just did a search on google and only found one person with livebox/NC10 issues, but I also know that some people forget simple things like putting it in pairing mode, so I am keeping fingers crossed it will be fine.
Would feel so much easier if someone with a livebox can put my fears to rest LOL Hopefully there will be a couple of people on this forum who have livebox.
This is a great place and it has already helped me loads. I am currently finding out as much as I can and getting files ready for my new netbook. Roll on March and my birthday lol

MemberYou’ll probably find that these people who have had ‘wifi issues’ with the livebox have incorrectly assumed it was the fault of the NC10. My friend used to have a livebox but bought his own router in the end because it was a shoddy piece of kit which would drop wifi connections randomly.
Anyway…. most of your queries about the NC10 will have already been answered on the forum if you use the search tool. HAve fun with your new NC10 it’s a great piece of kit! By the way which colour have you gone for?

MemberI am going for the white one, just love the look of it.
Must admit I’ve been lucky with my livebox, seems very stable and has been for years, everything I have tried to connect (psp, ps3, ipods, laptops etc) all connected without any issues and all hold their connection, fingers crossed for the NC10….

MemberI’ve connected mine to the Orange livebox at my mum’s with no problems. Connected as easily as to my own netgear router.

MemberTo echo the above, I don’t think the NC10 has any specific problem. My life long experience with wifi is that reliability can be a problem for many reasons. eg in my old house it would cut out all the time. I moved and it was fine! It’s always reassuring to hear someone with the same bit of kit has got it going so I hope someone can reply!
PS. if you are looking for somewhere to buy 😀
Edit: just read the post above, looks promising then :). Thanks for replying Josie

Thanks for this, was looking at Amazon in the UK anyway, but will keep an eye on the prices as it gets closer. Hubby is buying it for my birthday so I am hoping they come down a bit soon.
