Hi, do you know if I can use skype on one of these netbooks. I really need a little portable machine to carry around when im out about and would love to be able keep in touch – I hear that the webcam is great quality?
I’ve heard that it works fantastically with Skype but Ive not been able to try myself. I did have a go on the webcam though and it looked really good from what I saw so Im sure you won’t be dissapointed.
Its worth noting that many mobile broadband providers don’t allow internet chat but again I’ve not tried so I don’t know for sure.
Has anyone else had experience with Skype on the move?
I would guess that it will work the same as on any other XP system, portable or otherwise.
I use skype daily on the NC10 so Grandma in NZ can see the kids in UK. It’s awesome. She reports a great quality picture.
i havent tried skype but bt softphone works a dream and the mic is quite clear apparently
Works great. Both the audio and video are good quality. I am very impressed!

Hi, I’ve used skype using the Vodafone mobile broadband dongle on the nc10 and it’s great. I’d recommend it for what you’re after Katie..
Hi I have used Skype with XP no problems.
I have had Ubuntu loaded onto my NC10 could skype be loaded onto that partition?
I can answer my own query. There is a Linux version.
Works great. For better quality, try not too have to much other stuff going on at the same time, but it handles the workload fairly well overall.
