Was that my imagination or did the site just go down for about half an hour?
Starting approx 12:40am UK time.
Over the last few days I find it goes down somewhere between 10 am and 5 pm (gmt). I was starting to wonder if it was just me…
I’ve noticed over the last couple of weeks that the site response has been slow at times. Page loads have always been instantaneous for me, but now sometimes they just hang a bit. A check on other site responses at the time suggests it’s not my connection
I don’t think it’s your connection, jeepers01. I have a 50 Mbps Virgin connection and I’ve been experiencing delays too 🙁
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll see if I can track anything in the logs. Traffic has been constant for the last few months so unless the site got linked from somewhere big it should be under the normal load.
I did clear the cache a couple of times today and run a couple of updates but it really shouldn’t have affected anything.
If things continue to be sluggish I’ll give my host a shout but I know what they’ll say! They’ll just want me to upgrade to a new plan ;)!
I’ve been seeing the default Apache page (well it’s the custom page) quite often over the last few days when I visit the site. Where I’m not forwarded to the news.php page
Here in central USA (Minnesota) I haven’t noticed any unusual site behavior. Favorite is set to http://www.sammynetbook.com/news.php.

Thanks dock, I wonder if there is something else going on on this server that is eating resource at certain times. I must say that most of the time it seems ok to me. A bit slow from time to time but not unusable.
