Hi All.
Been using Vista on my home pc and Dell laptop for a while now, and i’m loving it.
Now yesterday i got my NC10 with xp, i was going to put vista on myself, but i am going away on holiday tomorrow and won’t have time to do it.The thing that has bugged me is no sooner have i bought this one than i see the NC11 on the horizon with Vista/120gb HDD/ possibly faster Atom chip.
So given that i prefer Vista, and have no need for a huge HDD should i send the NC10 back under DSR, and wiat for the NC11
Does anybody know any more info on the NC11?
how much / when will it be released.To be honest if it’s a couple of months away i can forget it.
However if it was only a week or two then i would wait and swap it.Any info gratefully recieved.
CheersI’m not aware that a replacement for the NC10 is that imminent but there will be others here who may be closer to the bush telegraph than me.
I am not sure that you would necessarily guarantee to get an increase in speed with a tweaked Atom if the machine is running Vista which is bit demanding so may cancel out any significant speed increases I guess.
I’d enjoy the NC10 (and the holiday).
I’ve not heard any definate information about the release of the NC11.
No info on, when, where, price or anything!
If the NC10 is selling well, which it appears to be doing, Samsung have no need to bring out a new model yet. Also, it was a latecomer to the netbook scene, which indicates that Samsung likes to watch the market and create the perfect product based on reviews and sales of others. This is a pretty good strategy, though there is the risk of coming into the fray too late, but Samsung appear to have picked exactly the right time with the NC10.
My guess is that they will see how well the NC20 does and determine which elements of it are most-liked by consumers. Then they will tailor a new NC10 with those preferences in mind. I estimate we will have an NC10 replacement in time for next Christmas, though hopefully Samsung will not underestimate the demand this time and release a little earlier with more stock available. That’s my thoughts anyway. 😀

I am horrified to read this………I was going to get an NC10 for my birthday beginning March, but am now very worried I wont find one if they are releasing the NC11…..
I don’t want Vista I prefer XP, and I don’t want 120GB HD I want the 160GB of the NC10.
The NC10 is already hard to find, will this mean I won’t be able to find one in March? and I will be doomed to the NC11? The NC10 has already gone up in price, the NC11 may well be priced out of my bracket…………nuts! Knew it was too good to be true ;o(Off the top of my head…

When the new NC10 version is released in Feb, will the current NC10 still be available or will the 3g version be the only one then?
Just bought the wife the NC10, will I be able to upgrade to the new 3G version? Not fussed if I can’t, but if I can well why not?!

Why do they have to make everything so hard? Put info out there now so people who are on the fence about buying an NC10 know what to do. Now I feel like I should wait just to hear what the “newer” versions have exactly. If I buy an NC10 and the NC11 comes out two months later for the same price I’m going to be ticked.
Honestly, I cannot remember how many times people have asked me ‘should I get model x now or wait until the next thing comes out?’ The bottom line is, get the machine you need when you need it. If you want to wait until the next model (and I believe the nc11 is really only the same thing but with vista so in this case really not an issue 😉 you will wait forever, as there will always be a next model. If you need it now, then go for it. Actually, I think it’s great 🙂
Yes, but it’s a little different waiting for something when it may be out in a month vs waiting until the next substantial upgrade to the NC10 comes out. This is why I wish they would just give concrete info about the NC11, because if it is truly just an NC10 with Vista then who cares, and it doesn’t even deserve a new name.

[/quote1232283170]Relax, NC10 is getting easier to find and has gone down in price, at least in the US. But if you’re still worried, you could always buy one now, but that’s almost never a good practice when buying electronics.
