Quick heads up.
In an article in The Register, Adobe has confirmed that Adobe Acrobat and Reader have a zero-day vulnerability that’s become the subject of hacker attacks.
Adobe will not be releasing an official patch until 11 March 2009, but a third-party patch for Adobe Reader version 9 only, has been released by security researchers, Sourcefire.
Even if you decide not to install this unofficial patch, don’t forget to apply Adobe’s patch after its release in three weeks time.
By the way, I’ve applied the update to my systems and Adobe Reader 9 still works 😉
Makes me wonder if you can still apply the official patch?
Keep us informed
Looks like FoxIT is vulnerable too.
Don’t forget to update Adobe Acrobat and Reader after tomorrow’s release of the security patch 🙂
