MemberI’ve been on a mission to find some software for Windows XP which allows you to zoom out on a virtual desktop, essentially giving one big mother of a viewable desktop. Obviously, the picture would have to become pixelated, but it would allow you to zoom back in to the section you want, instead of scrolling around looking for the right spot.
I ask this, because I think something like this would make our 1024×600 much more useful for some users. It would also make it easy to get around applications that need to run at a larger screen size.
I use a remote access/desktop service which I can full screen a much larger sized screen onto my NC10, and it does deteriorate the quality, but its still good enough to work with, particuarly when you just need an overview. I can then zoom back in when I need detail.
To further explain, if anyone has a PDA or phone with Opera installed, you can see a whole webpage on the screen, and you just double tap to zoom into the area you want to see. I want to be able to see the larger picture so I can scroll into the right area.
So, does anyone know of an application which can do this in Windows ?

MemberFound this one mentioned on another site as a recommendation for 600 pixel netbooks…
Looks like a virtual desktop app, but wonder how it solves the resolution limit. Most virtual desktop apps just give you a bigger desktop but don’t allow you to deal with apps that are bigger than the current desktop view (i.e. have an application window go over the edge of the view and to be able to scroll around).
I tried installing 360desktop but it just crashes Windows Explorer when I try to run it. Anyone else tried it ?

MemberI don’t think 360desktop is designed for vertical scroll.
