Do any Linux distros support screen rotation … like what you can do with hot keys under Windows? I think that’s some Intel utility providing the function in XP. (Could be very helpful for something like reading a long PDF.)
I can rotate the screen on Fedora 10, any distribution should be able to do it.
On Fedora in the Screen Resolution application you can choose between normal, left, right and upside down. It can be put in the panel as well for easy access.
This is using Gnome, I guess that KDE should have something similar.
FYI,
while using a Windows XP :
ctrl + alt + direction arrow right = screen 90° clockwise
ctrl + alt + direction arrow left = screen 90° anti clockwise
ctrl + alt + direction arrow up = normal screen
ctrl + alt + direction arrow down = upside down (180°)
Edit :
so no need of some “Intel utility” it’s native

I thought that the screen rotation (and hotkey) function in Windows was provided by the graphics driver and wasn’t native.

It’s true.My mistake.
Screen rotation came from the graphics driver. Thanks to correct me.
Thanks, Alfihar. I’ll try that.
I found the hot keys in the Windows driver yesterday and thought that was helpful … except that the orientation of the trackpad doesn’t change to match the screen. Will take some getting used to.
