Hi,
Ive noticed that the hinge on my NC10 is rather loose and when I’m in a car and my friend is driving the screen tends to tilt all the way back when driving. I dont have a problem with this when at home as the laptop is still.
Is there a fix for this without having to open up my NC10, all I would like is for the hinge to be slighty tighter so it takes more to tilt the screen??
Has anyone else noticed this? The best way to test this is too hold the laptop from the mouspad side and just gently shake the laptop.
Thanks
I’ld be more concerned on the effect on the HDD from gently shaking it than the screen moving ;o)
Mine’s a little loose too. If I wanted to use it in a car though, I don’t know if it’s loose enough not to stay put. It does tend to close when I hold the computer so that the keyboard is vertical.
If its fine used on the table I would think its caused either by a heater vent temporarily reducing the resistance of the hinge or the G forces induced by braking or acceleration.
If its an option try sitting in the rear at least then your screen can rest on the back of the front seat.
Going by previous laptops the hinge friction has always been non adjustable.
could always use a ripped off bit of rizla packaging between the battery & screen
I ws thinking of shuving something in the hinge like sum sort of paper and see if that helps!!!
Its not the end of the world as I only use the laptop sometimes in the car, I jusy find it irritating always having to pull the screen back every now and then!!!
