MemberA polish GSM network PLUS GSM offers Samsung NC10 with a built-in HSDPA modem. There was a presentation on Monday announcing the world premiere of this model. It is available in Plus stores starting from Wednesday. Samsung and Plus announced that this model is available exclusively in Poland. The complete offer is here: http://www.iplus.pl/indywidualni-promocje-dla-nowych-klientow-kampania-swiateczna.html. The model is still called N10. The HSDPA modem is made by Samsung. This model is also equipped with an atheros wifi card.

MemberThats nice, strange it’s only available in Poland though. Does Poland have really great 3G coverage or high demand for 3G then?

Memberhttp://www.iplus.pl/indywidualni-zasieg.html. I think the picture is self explaining. I guess it a kind of a beta test before official launch in western Europe. The model is marked as NP-NC10-KAP1PL http://www.samsung.com/pl/consumer/detail/features.do?group=computersperipherals&type=ultramobilepc&subtype=netbooks&model_cd=NP-NC10-KAP1PL. The regular model is NP-NC10-KA04PL.

MemberI do remeber speaking to a polish person on skype ages ago and he was saying he had a HSDPA pda so if that was out back then 2years maybe they have noticed they can resell it as broadband as well as mobile interent…

Memberperhaps it was cheaper to setup the mobile network for broadband then to upgrade telephone exchanges or laying fiber optic cable.

Memberi seriously wish they had gone that route in britain too.
did you know that 10% of britains broadband netowork is actually not even run on copper, it’s run on aluminium!
during the 80s BT was too poor to buy copper for a while, so a whole bunch of network that they laid in that period was aluminium.
the max speed for an aluminium line no matte rwhat you do is like 3.5mbps.
britains network is crap because bt won’t do qhat they should have done to start with and go straight to fibre to the door lines.November 30, 2008 at 8:07 pm #171906JohnX
MemberI’ve sold my NC10 on eBay, for £5 more than I paid for it from eBuyer. I do hope Samsung do the right thing and release this model worldwide.

[/quote1228076520]Mine didn’t have it either but then I knew it wouldn’t when I bought it. After Ebay fees at least you minimised your loss.

MemberIndeed, I knew it was not a feature but at the time I was not expecting Sumsung to do an exclusive to poland hehe. If they do the right think i’ll rebuy, but at the moment i’m looking at other netbooks with 3G.

MemberWell, I am a happy user of HSDPA NC-10 bought at the PLUS GSM operator in Poland. The mashine works great, In Warsaw suburbs Speedtest shows 2,5M/sec. Software delivered by Samsung, no simlock, so it seems one can use it in other countries as well with prepaid internet sim cards.
