MemberI was just wondering what the general thoughts are on the NC10s performance with Hulu. I have read articles saying it works great and others say it stutters. The reason I am curious is I would like to use my NC10 to stream Hulu to my living room TV.(This is not a deal breaker for me, but it would be nice) So what is everybody’s experience with streaming Hulu fullscreen or to a TV over VGA? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

MemberHulu ran fine for me full screen on my NC10 – I believe it’d mostly depend on the resolution that your TV is running at. If it’s 1366×768 (720p LCD) it *should* be fine.

[/quote1227581149]My TV is a 720p Plasma. I don’t necessarily haft to run it at that res though considering Hulu only streams up to 480p anyway though.

MemberPlasma’s run at a square resolution – so I doubt you’re going to have a problem with it.

[/quote1227587696]Thank you very much for the input!
I wonder what the people that are having trouble with it are doing that is causing it to stutter? Like I say though I have read cases other than yours of people saying it works great. Then there is about the same saying it doesn’t.

MemberProbably depends on what they’re running in the background. I have 2gigs of RAM along with being on Vista – so I’ve monitored everything I’ve installed. Generally run around 337mb RAM usage and 16% processor with Firefox open.

MemberA similar UK service – iPlayer – from the BBC ran well over here. There is a YouTube of it playing Heroes on my flatscreen TV here.

[/quote1227640047]99.9% of the shows I watch on there are not in HD anyway. If it can do 480p or even 368p fullscreen I’m happy.

MemberOk well I got my NC10 in and Hulu so far seems to be working great in fullscreen mode. There may be a few framerate drops here and then, but I haven’t noticed it to be a problem yet.

[/quote1228603926]Yah there are only certain shows that have signed on with Hulu. Hopefully more will in the future. As far as legit streaming video sites goes Hulu is pretty much the king of this category right now. They have a few pretty good shows on there like Knight Rider, House, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.(These may not fit your taste, but there is plenty more to choose from)

MemberHulu works great on the NC10. Normally only for US viewers but there are ways to go around that, I live in Sweden and can watch shows from Hulu.
