Hello, I hope you can help. Apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere. I have an NF210 Samsung Netbook, which I understand has a dual core processor. I want to purchase the Samsung DVD Writer SE-208, but the DVD Writer spec states that CPU system requirements are Intel Premium 4 (2.0 GHz or superior)/Intel Atom (1.6GHz or above). I had hoped my little NF210 would happily be up to the job, as it’s only been just over a year since I bought it and it has this dual core processor. However, when I looked at the properties of my netbook, it states that it has the following processor: ‘Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N550 @ 1.50GHz 1.50GHz’. I’m assuming therefore that this means I can’t run the DVD Writer on my NF210? Or does the presence of 1.50GHz written twice signify that it’s dual core and therefore has 3GHz capacity?
Sorry if this is a silly question: I’m not very techy! Many thanks for your help, Anais.

I’d say you should be fine.
The N450 Atom is an older single core CPU which runs at 1.6G
The N550 Atom is a more recent dual core CPU which runs at 1.5G
However, the N550 is the most powerful of the two and so I’d be very surprised if it didn’t run the DVD writer correctly.
I have a USB Samsung DVD drive on my N220 which uses the N450 and it works fine.
Hi Fred, thank you for that info. I’ll give the DVD Writer a go! Best wishes, Anais.
