MemberDoes anyone know about the samsung backup software and how good it is?
Does it backup the whole entire thing each time, or just the updated data?
Is the backup data accessable, or is it only able to be recovered to the original source? (in other words can you see the files you have backed up and access them.)
Is it fast?I purchased a 1TB western digital drive which included some Memeo backup software. I tried to backup some data on my old laptop and it was so sloooowww I couldn’t beleive it. I could copy and past 1gb of data in about a minute but it took over an hour for the Memeo software to backup 1gb of data. It was unbelievable. I even spoke to the people at Western Digital and they said that it’s not good for backing up lots of files and they directed me to the people at Memeo who said that a newer version was available, but that it was only a little faster. I guess the good thing about their software, was that once stuff is backed up, it only has to backup changes you have made.
I’ve heard Acronis is really good, but I’m wondering if I can just use the Samsung backup.

MemberYou mean the Samsung Recovery Solution III? I don’t think you can use it to backup to an external drive.

MemberYes, Samsung Recovery Solution III. I think you can use it for backing up external drives. If you open it, select backup, then select Data Backup (not complete backup), then uncheck basic selection which is just my documents and things, but instead check, select from all, and you get all your drives and folders to choose from. (including external drives.)

MemberIf you are just looking to back up files, and not create an image, you could try Karenware’s Replicator. I have used it for years and find it easy to use and reasonably fast.
