Right Batttery latch barely moves–I think I need to send the computer back for exchange

I just got my NC 10 and was taking the battery off and find the right battery latch is VERY hard to move at all…Got to use extremely strong pressure to get it to move left or right . I assume this is a defect in the unit I got and I will need to exchange it for one where the latch moves smoothly. I just wanted to ask if anybody else has had a difficult to move right battery latch and it is SUPPOSED to be that way?

My latch is on the loose side, not much required to move it. You might want to think about if it is worth exchanging just for this problem vs. how often you need to remove the battery and risks with exchanging, freight problems etc.

I do agree with that about trouble exchanging as I do not expect to ever change the battery until it burns out!
Anybody else with a comment on their RIGHT batter latch? I would appreciate!

Both of my latches are just fine, if anything they are more on the loose side.

My right latch is a bit stiff but I don’t remove the battery, ever!

thanks Everybody! I see there is a variation in the right latch..I push mine all the way to lock and think I will just keep the computer since ALL else is wonderful and really cannot imagine when I will need to remove the battery! Appreicate everybodys comments

have you removed the battery and put it back in again? thats what normally causes a stiff latch, when maybe it did not sit quite perfectly on insertion.

I did try that but no difference.

hmm o well, im sure u could sort it urself without taking it apart. maybe have a good look with the battery out, play with the catch that goes onto the acutal battery with a screwdriver, its probably come misaligned or something.
