Is there anyway to restore the NC10 back to its factory setting? If not, then what happens if i get a virus ro something that ‘kills’ my laptop?
Also is there any way to use a USB DVD Drive to install windows back on it?
Finally, The recovery software that comes on the laptop creates a folder on my D drive. How do you restore to this image?
Thanks
Rob
You cannot restore the NC10 back to it’s factory settings. However you should be able to restore Windows by pressing F4 at boot to load from the hidden recovery partition.
You can use a USB DVD drive to reinstall Windows using the disks which came with the NC10.
I believe that if you press F4 at boot one of the restore options should be to use the backup image on the D drive, I can’t confirm this though as I don’t have the recovery partition or software anymore.
I’ve used Samsung Recovery extensively, and I can confirm Alfihar’s response to be right on the dot. When you press F4 at boot up, you will have an option to use the backup image you created in D: as well as accessing the initial recovery partition.
