MemberCould someone please, pretty please, post close-ups of the UK keyboard? By close-up I mean enough resolution to read the letters on the keys.
My craving for a black NC10 is killing me… I’m pondering buying the UK version, shipped to me in the US. Want to see for myself just how different the keyboard is.

Coming from an American NC10 user, that layout is very different from ours. But then, I’m sure ours looks strange in GB, so there you go. 🙂

MemberThanks Becky!! That’s perfect!
Anyone care to do the same for the US version in a side by side?
By the way, the blue version looks a different shade every time I see it. Maybe I’ll just give up on black in the States and get the blue….

MemberThe UK keyboard is rather odd for a UK keyboard, in my view.
The | and key is on the right, whereas every other keyboard I’ve looked at (and review NC10s) have it on the left, leaving room for a wide shift key on the right (rather than the left as on the UK NC10).
This is my main grumble about the NC10 really, my documents are peppered with s instead of shifted characters…

Membersnowman, it’s taken me a while to stop typing instead of capitalising, but I think I’ve gotten used to it now. I really would have preferred a larger right shift key though, that’s for sure.
Squonk – yes your keyboards do look strange to us, particularly that thin enter key! 😀

[/quote1228470866]I thought the manual of the NC10 shows keyboard layouts for Europe, US and UAE?

MemberThere are some major differences between the US and UK keyboard layout. The UK version has for instance a double-height enter key. The US version has a larger right shift-key. On on of the first pages in the Samsung NC10 these two different keyboards are shown:
(scroll down on this page and you will find a download link for the User Manual ver. 1.2)

MemberDo you know what Freddy? I should have gotten myself a US NC10, as one of my wishes for the NC10 is for there to be a large right-shift key. Ah well, I’m just going to have to make do.

MemberI understand what you mean. I was a bit unsure when ordering the NC10, but I could get it sooner ordering from UK and after some use I have to make do of the smaller right shift key. Having always been using right shift and the arrow keys to highlight text and Ctrl+Insert to copy and Shift+Insert to paste it takes some getting used to 😉

[/quote1228511780]I had a similar problem with the German version but solved it by installing the free SharpKeys and re-mapping the offending key (in Germany it is the “<"-key) to the shift key so that now I have 2 shift keys next to each other with fluid, hassle-free typing. I got the idea from here: http://www.jkontherun.com/2008/01/re-map-keys-in.html
