Does anyone know if you can buy spare retainers (the white plastic mechanism under the key) as I have snapped one of mine and cant fix it.
Checked eBay but no luck there.
Sorry it’s not something that I know of – I haven’t seen it mentioned on the forum so far (although I do only read about 95% of the threads so might have missed it!)
Have you asked Samsung support as they seem to be good at replying to queries. Might even be under warranty if it happened through “Normal” usage. How did it happen??!!
Rang Samsung and they said it can’t be replaced as it was through misuse.
The key was wobbling and creaking on the corner so I had a look underneath and the circular plastic bit around the suction had a small crack down the middle.
i have the same problem.did you find it?samsung doesn’t support the parts.they offered a replacement the whole keyboard which costs around 90 usd.i don’t want to pay that much just for a little plastic thing.i searched on the ebay and found keyboards but they are all s38 type us keyboards(my nc10 has the type s20) and the retainer clips are not the same.besides i don’t want to use us layout keyboard that i need the biiger enter key.if anyone has the retainer i also want to buy…
the amount of missing keys on the laptops in the shops in the uk , Im sure they would not miss another one , not that I am advocating stealing , but a quiet word with one of the sales guys might do the trick .
I’ve ordered spare keys individually, for around £3 each, and they have all the plastic scissor mechanisms underneath, so you could just pop it on. This is in the UK though.
