MemberI installed Rocket Dock a few weeks ago (thanks people for mentioning that program!).
Only problem is, I can’t seem to remove the Bluetooth or Recycling Bin desktop icons, because it doesn’t have the delete option like the others.
Anyone know how I can remove them now that I have them in my rocket dock?
Thanks!

MemberYou could always try right clicking, and then disabling “view desktop icons”

MemberIf i’m right… what you mean is remove the Bluetooth icon and Recycle Bin icon from the Windows desktop not from rocket dock.
There are a few different ways to do this but I think this is the simplist (plus you can use TweakUI for loads more useful things).
Download TweakUI which is a Microsoft XP Power Toy.
Link is here.
Install it, go to Desktop, Desktop Icons and untick Bluetooth Places and Recycle Bin.
Job done!

MemberHere’s a long winded method:
1. Open regedit from “Run” command
2. Locate and delete this key: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{6af09ec9-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb}]
3. Close regedit, and Refresh your desktop – My Bluetooth Places” should now appear as a folder. Delete it.
4. If you want “Explore My Bluetooth Places” in the tray to work, then add the registry patch below (copy and paste it into Notepad, save it as a .reg file, and run it):Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{6af09ec9-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb}]

MemberBest method I have found for this… without installing anything or tweaking the registry…
1. Right click desktop
2. Click on Properties
3. Click on Desktop tab
4. Click on Customize Desktop
5. Click on Clean Desktop Now
6. Click next
7. Click the checkbox next to the Bluetooth Icon to remove.Ta Da 🙂
To remove the Recycle bin… the best way is to go to Customize desktop… then uncheck the recycle bin option. Or move it somewhere other than it’s default location… then just delete it.
Hope that helps.
