Hello, having accidentaly deleted my recovery partiton and finding the only way to recreate it without a cd backup (stupid yes, i know) is to pay £60 to a service centre, could anyone suggest a free or cheap, simple alternative. I have tried clonezilla and paragon, but couldnt really get to grips with saving images and restoring them. I found the touch of a button backup and restore of recovery solution perfect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
SRS is clunky, but does work very well. I don’t know of any other available software that sits around doing the same. Other makers have their own systems too, but not generally available. Getting used to Clonezilla/Ghost is really the best “external” method as it needs a CD/BootUSB or whatever.
Does Acronis work like SRS?
Having recently put a new hard disk in a desktop PC – and spend several hours applying all of the XP updates(!), I’d like to make an image of the Windows partition.
I’m unclear as to how I go about reinstalling the image should I need to. Is there an option to install something to the boot record so Acronis works like SRS?
Any pointers much appreciated…
