MemberI plan on Installing OSX, Win7, Ubuntu (maybe) and I’d like to know if I should make extra partitions. should I make atleast 3 partitions for my 3 different OS? What size should each be? I’m going to use chameleon for multiboot.
How do you guys carry your samsung around? In a backpack, bag, etc? If there’s any student here that’d be great. I’ve heard horror stories of ppl carrying their netbook in their packback only to open them up and see the screen cracked.
That’s it for now. I will check out all the stickies. Thanks!

MemberCan’t help you with the multi-OS question, but I just got a Zeroschock III sleeve based on a thread here. A lot of good bags and sleeves were mentioned with photos too. Reminds me, I need to open mine and give it a try.

MemberI reclaimed the 6 GB wasted space from the recovery partition and I have allocated the disk space (all primary partitions) on my drive as follows:
-
50 GB as partition hd 0,0 for WinXP
-
50 GB as partition hd 0,1 for Windows 7
-
3 GB as partition hd 0,2 for linux-swap
-
and the remainder (about 46 GB) as partition hd 0,3 for Ubuntu
Works a treat for me 🙂
Just beware that Ubuntu does not load the correct wireless driver. I solved this using the following install wireless guide. Also beware that everytime you update the kernel, the wireless adapter stops working again and you have to reinstall the driver 🙁
As far as a case is concerned, I nipped down to PCWorld and bought a Swordfish sleeve with 2 GB USB stick . I’m pleased with the Swordfish sleeve. My Sammy’s survived being thrown around the car in my briefcase for days on end and being trudged around London in a rucksack. The 2 GB KIngston USB stick is a useful bonus.

MemberVery nice, TCMuffin.
You installed and booted Win7 from a USB flash, right?
Is it just connecting the flash drive to the sammy and then running the win7.iso from the flash drive?
