MemberI can happily confirm that if your OS is XP SP3, RealMyst (3D) runs in 1024 x 600 at 32 bit, so far like an absolute dream. I’m only a short way into it and if I run into any problems I’ll report back but so far it’s stunning, really I’ve never seen it look so good.

MemberA quick Google using “RealMyst Demo†produced a number, you could try: http://www.download.com/Real-Myst-test-demo/3000-7564_4-10243494.html
However I believe that the Demo’s might be the early ones and therefor could be pre the XP patch, if you give it ago let me know how you get on with it, I didn’t bother with the Demo as I’ve been a big fan of the Myst series for quite sometime and was just happy to get stuck into the game.
I’ve now completed RealMyst on the NC10 and have had no problems at all, it’s strange to think that when it first came out, not many people had the hard ware to run it properly, now all these years later I put it on a Netbook and it’s never looked so good. Next on my list is going to be Riven but if it works I’ll do a new thread for that.Edited to get the link working.

MemberOk your link was kinda dead but i found “Version 3.0” of the Demo which seemed to be the most recent.
It worked pretty good on the NC10.

MemberSo i got the Game from a friend and while the demo runs just fine the full version keeps crashing to desktop.
The usual Microsoft error report with the options to send or debug.
I applied Patc 1.1.1 to the game. Any ideas with it keeps crashing on me?

MemberThats odd, if you copy and paste the link I posted it works but from the sound of it you’ve found a good Demo anyway. As for the full game, you might have an early copy, you’ve applied the patch with no luck so all I can think of is to get a later release or try Windows compatibility mode and knock XP down to 95, that should sort the problem out; Although I’ve had no such problems so I’m flying blind.

MemberUnfortunately I don’t know, although I bought RealMyst on release and believe (although I could be wrong) it was updated a some point, probably for one of the box sets, all of my LP’s, old PC games and CD’s are now up in the loft and with the amount of junk up there that’s one place I’m not going. If Windows compatibility mode isn’t working for your version (after knocking XP down to 98/ME not 95 as I mentioned in my other post) and you’ve remembered to launch the setup first, the only thing I can suggest if you still want to play RealMyst, which for my money is the best version of Myst, then you could always download a torrent and use Magic ISO, that’s what I did.
