Hi,
Brand new to the site (and only 2 days ownership of nc10- blue).
Loving it a lot – can’t believe how clunky my 14″ laptop seems…. no faults -everything loads and runs quickly and fine (std ram)>
Here’s my question…..
Have an LG external cd/dvd/cdrom GP08LU10 which I got to load software and watch dvds.
Works fine loading software. When I attempt to play dvd, message: “no dvd decoder” or words to that effect….. Probably my ignorance of computers, but what should I do in order to play dvds?
I’m pretty sure the NC10 should play dvds without addtional software???

Try this thread about the VLC player 🙂
You can also upgrade Windows Media Player to version 11 and then download the XP Codec Pack which will allow you to watch DVD’s through media player.

I’ve got the same drive.
It comes with a set-up disc that has Nero and a dvd decoder software on it.I used it so that I could play dvds straight away.
I’ll probably change to something else in time, but it gets the dvds playing straight away
