problems with the atheros wifi card?

Hello to all. I received my NC10 two days ago and I’ve been installing things and playing with it since then. Everything works extremely well except the wifi. For some reason the netbook can’t locate mi home wifi network. It sees my neighbors’ but not mine. I even can connect to the University network and works fine. It’s odd because my laptop does see the wifi at home perfectly (it has a intel pro wireless card). Where is the problem, in the card or in the router? Please, advice needed.

It can be the router. Try upgrading the routers firmware to the latest version. What make + model of router are you using?

Have you checked that your router is broadcasting SSID? Your laptop already has details so can connect even when router not broadcasting. Switch broadcasting on, connect NC10, switch broadcasting off again (is a good security measure). Default in network connection properties (once established) is to connect even when not broadcasting (make sure it’s selected).

Thanks for the quick replies. The modem is a comtrend hg536+. I will try to find that SSID broadcasting option. I was just wishing not to have to delve in the router configuration, because I don’t have a clue about routers.
