I ordered mine from PC World on a 3-4 day delivery – well, it has been six days and they have yet to despatch. I would assume that I will have to wait 3-4 days again at the point they do despatch. My order is looking more like being 10 to 14 days.
My judgement here is that PC World are getting busy for Christmas and, as a major retailer, ordering from them from this point on could be a slow.
The warning sign with PC World (and probably similar retailers) is with the delivery options – the Premium delivery options will be for 5 days or so ahead of your order date. This means that if they are quoting 5 days for a Premium delivery, then a standard one is clearly going to be longer then 3-4 days (as I am finding out).
Probably, the smaller online dealers are the better option. Many are quoting next day delivery, etc (for a fee of course).
Hi I bought a blue one in PC World yesterday they had three out back but none on display. The web price is £299 but they tried to charge £329 so make sure you ask for the web price!
also to note with pcworld, you can check the collect at store option and it may so no stock. This is not always the case if it shows no stock, then this actually means there are less than 3 in the store. I argued over a wacom tablet as it was 10 pounds cheaper on the web, but stock checker said none. i turned up and there were three on the shelf at the full price. it was then they explained the above to me and eventually honoured the price
