MemberJust a quick note and wondering if anyone else has had to send their NC10 for repair yet? I have unfortunatly had to send mine away twice due the issues with the wireless card, basically it would stop working wouldnt re-enable then disappeared from device manager and also the wireless option in the BIOS disappeared.
1st repair they changed the mainboard and it worked fine for 8 hours then lo and behold the same fault occured, after a silly phonecall to sammy and them trying to say its my router at fault I arranged another repair and insisted the wireless card is faulty and to change it which is what I expected them to do the 1st time.
2nd repair they changed the mainboard and the wireless card so pretty much a new laptop really sofar everything is ok, if it goes again i’ll ask for a new one as entitled to for 3 repairs on the same fault then ill sell it and get something different.
It has left me a little sour with samsung products and I have already vowed not to buy another amsung product again. although I have to put my hands up and congratulate them on there repair times sent away on a tuesday and back with me on a thursday on both ocassions.
so anyone else had to send there nc10 for repair?

MemberNope mine has not been away for repairs yet, have owned the Samsung since 3rd November. So everything is going just fine at the moment, a least it is lasting longer than the MSI Wind that i use to own, which lasted a total of a month so i demanded a refund on that.

I don’t understand why they would replace the mainboard when you returned it because the wireless card was not working? Seems strange!
Anyway i’ve had my Sammy since the end of November and not had any problems whatsoever. And I have been running it every day since I bought it. I think you were just very very unlucky?January 18, 2009 at 5:44 pm #180214Joe

MemberNo probs here. I’ve been using it since Nov too pretty much every day. Neither am I that careful with it either.
I am sorry to hear yours has let you down though :(. Despite running this site I wouldn’t consider myself a Samsung nut! But I will just say that it’s worth considering that if you Google around you will find horror stories with regards to any manufacturer and a % of people unfortunately will have problems with any product. It’s unfortunate for manufacturers that single incidents can now be reported and viewed by millions.
I would say the key is how quickly manufactures respond and deal with problems. And the news in the top post is reassuring to me.
Of course I realise that if I personally had been sold a lemon I would probably not be writing this with such a cool head lol!
I hope it doesn’t give you any more problems 🙂

MemberMines been perfect so far – Samsung TV’s are brilliant in terms of picture quality and specs – so dont swear never to buy Samsung again – I have 6 yrs experience of selling TV’s – and Samsung are one of the most popular makes – generally Sammy build quality tends to be good too!

MemberTouch Wood, so-far I have had no new problems with the NC10 so fingers crossed that will be the last of it, and my faith will be restored in the product.
I have also partitioned the HDD and installed windows 7 which I am liking alot….
