Hey folks…
I’m just curious if anyone has installed launchy (the neat little application launcher) on their NC-10 and if they have, has it affected performance at all?
It’s hard to tell for me, as I’m having all sorts of trouble with my NC-10….
Latest WLAN drivers are not working at all… so using some older ones that seem slow as well. My macbook pro gets around 600-800kb/s per second download, but NC10 barely gets 80Kb/s download…
VLC won’t play (stream) any MKV’s at all….
Playback on online video sites is choppy all the time!!
(PS. I have 2Gb RAM)
I’ve tried to remove all the bloat-ware on the NC10 etc…but still no good.
I’ve seen various threads relating to most of these issues, but no one seems to have posted any remedies or solutions…
Such a frustration as everyone else is having wonderful time with their Sammys!

That sounds odd. I just received my NC10 yesterday and haven’t had ANY issues. Wireless is perfect, better than any of the other laptops in my house and video streaming is superb. I did replace the OS with XP Pro, though.
Did you upgrade the RAM or was it purchased with the upgrade? I would run memtest on it to see if it is OK, that might be the issue with your video display.
Are all of your drivers installed properly?
I hope you get it all resolved. My NC10 experience is quite the contrary, this thing is lightning fast – giving my gamer PC a run for its money as far as OS processes are concerned.
Ive had a few issues with streaming video, specifically hulu 480p. I dont think its my internet connectoin. It does it in linux too (although not as bad). If you’re having problems with youtube thats one thing, but these machines just dont have the balls for some of the stuff I was expecting.
Wondering what router you’re using? I’m having problems with the Wlan drivers to and internet connections. I’ve been doing some reading and the people that seem to be having problems are using Netgear Routers.
