Output to TV

Hi all,

Had my NC10 for a week now and am extremely pleased with it. Also some great tips and guides on this site.

I’d like to be able to play stuff like BBC iPlayer and DVD rips through a TV which I understand I can do using the VGA connection.

Am now considering buying a replacement TV for the bedroom that also has a VGA connection so should be compatible. What I’d like to know if anyone can help is will that connection transmit the picture and sound too, or will I need some other connection for the sound ?

With the poor sound of the NC10 speakers I’d hate to buy the TV only to find that the sound comes from the NC10 🙂

Welcome to the site Gorse.

The VGA connection will only transmit the picture.

For sound you will need to make sure you TV accepts a sound input (either stereo line in or left and right phono jacks) and buy the correct cable to connect to the NC10. Either that, or use some other external speakers.
