Hi,
I know the screen resolution is 1024 x 600 however what is the output resolution of the VGA port. I have a 720p projector and want to play 720p HD movies on it and wondering whether the NC10 can serve this purpose?
The nc10 can output resoultions upto 1920*1080p without any problems. Just change the resolution as required when you connect the vga cable
When you connect an external monitor, the NC10 will default it to 1,024 x 600.
If you got into ‘Advanced’ – ‘Monitor’ and then untick ‘Hide modes that this monitor cannot display’. You can then use the resolution that you want.
Just make sure you are amending the right monitor – it should the Plug and Play one – not the Default monitor.
I am currently showing 1,024 x 600 on the NC10 and 1680 x 1050 on the external monitor.
I tell a lie.
The NC10 has dropped to 640 x 480 for some reason – might need a bit of tinkering – seems that the resolution of one monitor may effect what the other can do. Not sure, as I have only just tried it.
Thanks for the quick replies guys 🙂 Is the laptop capable of handling 720p HD movies such as the ones downloaded from the Vimeo HD channel?
you should be able to set custom resolutions for each screen independantly i think… you need to tell the intel software that you want extended desktop instead of a cloned desktop. that should allow you to have two independant resolutions and of course do other stuff on the nc10’s lcd while playing back on the projector.
lush.
i streamed a 720p file accross wifi to my unit with powerdvd and played perfectly
