I’m in my second year of a BTEC National Diploma for IT practitioners, looking at going to uni.
Can’t say it’s been terribly helpful yet as I haven’t been back to college yet, bedridden with awful man flu 🙁

So you learn about practical stuff in your IT course?
I’m interested as I often wonder about the practical usefulness of computer science degrees because I’ve worked in IT for 10 years now and those with hardcore IT degrees seem to be no better positioned than those without. Just my observation though.
Getting a degree is useful though as the companies I’ve worked for only ever recruit graduates. And often, like me, from non-IT backgrounds.

Good luck with the course – im doing a BSC Computing Science degree mainly focussing on web design and web development. The NC10 helps me no end with that sort of thing…
