Anyone tested VMWare out on this computer? I don’t expect it to replace my Thinkpad for virtualization, but it would be quite helpful if it could still run it.
(I’ll be using 2gb of RAM, but RAM isn’t the issue here)
I haven’t tried it yet but I do use Virtualbox on my desktop for testing purposes. I may give it a try. I wouldn’t expect stellar performance although if that is all you are running at the time then I imagine it would get the job done without any real complaints.
currently got virtualbox installed but having probs booting from a usb key to install whs 2008. gonna play around later
I had a problem enabling USB support in VirtualBox on my desktop before – got it working eventually but I do recall it was fiddly too. I may be easier to create an image of whs2008 and put that on the NC10 HD somwhere.
I have installed Virtual PC but have yet to run anything on it. Gonna take a while to copy over a vhd file and I dont want to max out my network right now as other people are using t’interweb.
I’ll report back how I get on. It’s one of the reasons I got the Ram upgrade but who knows how it will perform lol!
It seems fairly slow, but I was also running it in power saver mode. Once it was up and running though, it seemed to be ok. Definitely can feel the difference against the T9300 in my T61p.
