MemberHi, i have just bought a nc10, everything seems fine, but i am having problems loading certain web pages.
These pages are quite popular (ebay, youtube etc), this problem only occurs when connected wirelessly. I have updated the drivers but no joy. I dont have problems when i have a wired connection. This is a really odd problem, please help soon.

Memberwhat problem are you actually having ? are the pages not loading ? if not what is happeneing ? are you able to browse other pages normally ?

MemberI cannot specifically get ebay or youtube pages to load at all, otherwise i can browse most sites without problems.
I do have a choice of browsers firefox & ie8, but ebay and youtube wont load at all with either browser. The pages load fine when i am using a wired connection.
I have a netgear router (wgt624) which has the latest firmware, no other problems. This is weird.

ParticipantCan you get to ebay if you go to the following address http://66.135.217.240/ or youtube at http://208.65.153.253
Have you tried restarting your router?

MemberNo joys with either ip addresses, but will now reset the router, see if that works. Thanks

MemberI have now reset the router, the laptop connects fine wirelessly to the internet, however my main problem still persists. I cannot connect to ebay or youtube.
I have noticed that the browser throws me to livesearch, which is microsofts search facility, will change livesearcg to google, see if that helps.
But please throw more tips, as this is an irritating problem, thanks.

MemberTry clearing your browsing history, cookies, temporary files etc in both Firefox and IE and then try accessing those websites again.
Make sure all settings in IE are default for Security, Privacy, Content etc.
Still, none of this would explain why it happens when you’re connected wirelessly and not when you’re connected using a cable.

ParticipantAre you running some extra firewall software, or just Windows inbuilt one?
If you run the following command from the command line, what appears?
ping -c 5 208.65.153.253February 24, 2009 at 10:53 pm #184857Taz307
MemberI have pinged the ip address above, no problems there, replys came back quick, it did not time out. clearing the file history has made no difference at all, as i can connect by ethernet wire fine to these sites, just not wirelessly.
I am using the 3 month trial version of mcafee that was supplied with the sammy. I will double check if windows firewall is running and turn this off, thanks so far.
