I’m a tech writer/coder/designer/guy recently freed from college and thrilled to see how quickly a community has sprung from the NC10. I picked up one for myself for travel (communication and coding on the road) and software testing. I have not had the time to experiment too much with my NC10, but I will be modding in the future to better serve my needs.
I will be dual-booting Linux with XP on my NC10 and I’ll be happy to answer any questions about getting Linux or any other system to work on the NC10. I worked in tech support for a little while and I’m pretty good with general hardware/software questions if you have any. Let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
Welcome to the forum chap – you sound like a handy guy to have around!
Thanks! I’m glad to be here.
some nice ‘how to’s going step by step say for turning the contents of a cd/dvd into something you can put on a memory stick and then install onto your NC10, listing the programs used and options would be most welcome.
Not just a ‘grab isobuster and then use diskdaemon to run as if you have a real cd drive’
Something a bit more detailed for those of us who may not be so proficiant in the use of such programs.
That kind of thing 🙂
Absolutely – I think it’s easy to think that everyone knows the basics and I’m very keen for this site to be new user friendly with a range of topics for all levels. I’m writing up some basic security hints at the moment. They’ll have to be basic becuase im no security expert lol but perhaps someone will be able to carry on the series to a higher level for example.
