MemberThe move from 5,200mAh to 5,900mAh giving 60% longer life sounds a bit off.

MemberGiven the minimal cost, you wonder why Samsung haven’t shipped the ‘Special Edition’ with 2 GB RAM.
Apart from the shiny screen, I’ve still got a bad case of new Samsung envy, though :p

MemberArg, I literally have an NC-10 showing up at my door tomorrow. Any current users think it would be worth it to just send it right back to Amazon and preorder this one? Is the touch pad really that much of a problem? This is gonna bother me now…

[/quote1234169681]The 1Gig RAM limit is a Microsoft licence requirement, they will only supply XP SP3 if the amount of RAM is 1Gig or less. More than that means Vista Home Basic at a greater cost to the manufacturer.
I don’t like a shiny screen, a royal pain outside in the sunshine.

[/quote1234170095]Does nobody else find this strange? The NC10 already has an LED screen and 4200RPM drive, and the new model uses the same CPU and chipset. Where are the extra 3.5 hours coming from?

[/quote1234170170]There’s no shipping date for this special edition, how long are you prepared to wait for something that might not appear. It wouldn’t be the first time a product was announced just to see if there was any interest before they start production.

[/quote1234170352]Unfortunately that’s the way it goes especially with tech stuff, there’s no release date for this new version so it could be months before it arrives.

MemberI received my NC10 on Friday and still waiting for the ram. This is once I’m not upset that I didn’t wait. Yes, I would like to have the extra battery. Yes, I do agree the track pad could use improvement. I still love this machine.

[/quote1234219292]True, its not worth waiting for that extra battery life. I was under the impression that this special addition was merely days away from release, if its some unknown distant date than then its not worth the wait.
Hopefully I will be picking mine up today from UPS!

MemberIs there any REAL Reason why they are using “DDR2 800 MHz” now instead of “DDR2 667 MHz” like they used in the “old” NC10 or is this more like some kind of marketing-trick?

MemberI think based on what I read the new NC10 it might be shipping? So any updates on the real difference maybe?
