Hi to all at Sammynetbook.
My old netbook has just blown up so I have purchased a new N210+
So far, so good, apart from trying to surf the web using Hyperspace screen.
Whenever I try to do so, I get a message in the middle of the screen
WAITING FOR NETWORKPage reloads automatically when network is up.
On the ribbon bar:-Problem loading page – Hyperspace Web Browser
I am clueless as to what to do to resolve this. Can anybody help

I think the problem is Hyperspace is no more (I believe).
Others have had the problem as well. See below (for example).

or

April 2, 2011 at 8:15 pm #215714Fred232MemberSorry, what I meant was, I don’t think its being supported any more. I thought I’d read somewhere its no longer being supported by Phoenix. Maybe not.

EDIT – steve_ben2004, something you could try is to try to connect to an unencrypted network. My Network at home is WPA2, and I’ve never managed to get Hyperspace to connect to it, same symptoms as you. However, locally I have a BT-FON (unencrypted access via a BT network if you are a member) and I can eventually connect via that, as follows:
1 start hyperspace
2 click the aerial icon (WiFi Network)
3 in the list of networks are any listed? If none are shown, click advanced, click ‘enable network’ and SCAN and wait.
4 if a list appears and you can see an unencrypted open network such as BT-FON, then highlight that. Unencrypted networks are shown without a padlock in the security list. If no list appears then click ‘disable network’ then ‘enable network’ and SCAN again.
5 With your chosen unencrypted network highlighted, click connect and wait. The connecting bar should move left and right showing connecting.
6 You should then maybe see ‘associating’ or ‘Acquiring IP address’ with the bar still moving left and right, but this doesn’t last long.
7 In the speed column the network speed appears once its connected.
8 If Connection Failed appears then click back and connect again. Try again on another unencrypted network if it keeps failing, or again try the ‘disable network’ and ‘enable network’ trick and then connect again.NOTE: Its all hit and miss even with unencrypted. With WPA2 encrypted, I’ve never connected. With unencrypted I can connect about 1 in 6 or 7 attempts. It seems stable once I’ve connected though.
I think the trouble is, as I said above, I believe its now unsupported and never really finalized (I think).
I guess you could try dropping your network to WEP or NONE (encryption) as a test, but I wouldn’t leave mine like that, and I would not advise it for any use other than a test.
Hope that helps a bit. Good luck.
