new LCD with NC10

am thinking of picking up a new LCD in the sales to make the samsung BIGGER. Haven’t had a monitor for ages as have been working off laptops (except at work where they give you the cheapest that money can buy!).

Anyone have any recommendations as to what would work well with the Sammy? Are there any limitations to the outputs of the NC10, especially as its ‘native’ environment is so low? I assume it can do 1024×768 as a minimum for projectors, but are there any restrictions in terms of 4:3 or 16:9 or anything that i should be aware of?

I’ve used mine with a screen displaying 1366×768 (720p TV), I’ll see if I can try it with a 1280×1024 display later.

The specs are a bit ambiguous though it looks like 1280×1024 may be the maximum for the chipset in the NC10 outputting via VGA.

Looks like max output is 2048×1536 @ 75Hz

Is it as simple as looking up the specs for the Intel 950? or are there modifications samsung will have made to the integrated video in order to mesh with their hardware which may also affect the output?

hmm just re-read the datasheet, although the maximum resolution appears to differ depending on the which version of the 945 you have, the overall spec shows:-

Support for dual-channel LVDS resolutions up to UXGA
Support for CRT resolutions up to QXGA

As dougp said, it should be able to output up to 2048×1536.
