Need help updating the wifi driver.

I’m having a slight problem with wifi. It will connect and stay connected however when I browse, I will get an occassional error showing internet page is not available. Refreshing the page though will result in successful re-connection.

I tried to update the driver but it hangs. Can someone provide a step by step guide to update the wifi driver? Or just confirm whether I’m doing the update right.

I initially removed the existing Atheros WLAN Client and received a warning that I have another version installed and if I want to remove it too in which I chose yes. I unzipped the WLAN_Atheros_7.6.1.160 downloaded from Samsung website. I was a bit stumped and didn’t know which file to click (ssetup, setup, or install). I tried both ssetup and setup but both didn’t do anything (the next page installatin just freeze). Any advise would be great.

What kind of a Wireless Router are you using?

About the installation, it is setup.exe you should run. If I remember correctly this installation was a bit slow so have some patience with it.

My router is a CompUSA brand. I’ve had Asus 100H before (sold now since the right shift key was driving me crazy) that initially dropped the connection now and then. I was able to update the driver which improved the connection.

I’ll try updating the driver again and see how it goes.
