Ok. So I see this 2 sub folders: s3ginv.dll – 6.14.10.191 S3 Graphics CIL Driver
s3giGP.dll – 6.14.10.191 S3 Graphics UMS-series dispayWhen i try to open either one of the folders I get a “Caution…open with…” prompt.
What do I do after this? I’m not understanding the ease at which to install the old display driver…can someone give me a preschooler step-by-step tutorial to install this driver please? Thank you in advanceDecember 23, 2010 at 6:08 am #200328rscricketMemberI struggled with exactly what device to rollback but figured it out – I am writing this hoping it will help someone get there without having to figure it out.
To roll back the video driver –
Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device mgr > Display adapters > Via Chrome9 HC3 IGP > right click > Properties > Driver > Rollback driver – mine (after rollback is at 6.14.10.182)@spurcrux 86140 wrote:
Thank you for sorting this out! I have now rolled back the latest driver (6.14.10.213) to the previous driver which in my case was an earlier version than the one posted above (6.14.10.182 instead of 6.14.10.191). This one seem to work fine so far, as I have not experienced the lockup since, but I will post again if it happens.

November 27, 2011 at 9:58 am #200334mrwormMemberHi, I have been referring to this thread a few times over the past few years of ownership of a NC20. The infernal machine is still freezing for no apparent reason. I have tried various versions of the Via driver, currently using .182. I have lowered hardware acceleration to minimum in an attempt to stop this and it seems better, but today I have already had three freezes. Will hardware acceleration have anything to do with the problem?
I am on Windows XP, using Opera 11.52. I have tried different browsers, no difference.
Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Si.
