I stripped 2 screws on the back of my NC10…I read the warning thread and got some of those posi screw drivers but I guess 2 of the screws were just in too tight.
Is there anything I can do to back them out or am I screwed? (no pun intended)
Hi Airwolf, welcome to the forum.
I had the same problem as you when I was installing my new hard drive it’s a pain in the neck. Some people have had luck drilling the screws out. Some people have taken their NC10 back due to the poor quality screws. Another option is using a craft knife and try and reshape the screws.
Good luck, I know how p****d off you must be!
Sorry, i have no clue but i did a google search for you…
Had no time to find a solution but maybe you can start the search on your own following my link.

Is there anyone here who has taken theirs back on that premise or is this just annecdotal ‘my friend’ gossip ?
I also dispute that they are poor quality, they are self locking, (the blue residue on the end of the thread) which is what makes them so tight but if the correct tool is employed, and with the requisite degree of skill, they come out perfectly OK.

I was able to successfully extract 2 screws with this kit from Sears.
Samsung refuses to send me new screws 😀
Quick note
If you lose / destroy your original NC10 screws
go to your local chemist / opticians an get a glasses ‘repair kit’ – the largest screw in that fits the NC10 and is usually silver to match
😀
Welcome to the forum, wtftom, and thank you for a useful first post 🙂
