Such speakers can probably have a diameter of about 28mm but the should also have a height that fits inside the NC10 and that seems to be hard. ELFA has a pair of 28mm round speakers but the height makes them impossible to get in there.
[/quote1234051302]F*&@ the height I have Dremel! ( Never fear!I won’t rush out and cut large gapping wholes in to my case, outrageous. It will be a careful, exact and precise incision =D ) haha.

I’ve spotted model 23KE08 on http://www.veco.com.tw
Nice n’round 23x23x8.8 max 2.5W each
If you look at the speaker picture there is quiet a difference in width of mounting and the width of the speaker, I think these will fit, and I’ve emailed the company about ordering.
[/quote1234051574]Oooh no need for NC10 Open heart Surgery… i can not get to the website?more details please!
Anyone fort of reserve mounting the speaker,so its flush with the case?some extra cable wire so you can open the case easily.
here is a picture of a speaker flush with a surface would be awesome for that to be at the bottom of my nc10.
Ps. 80h Decoder description varies across the vastness of the world wide web but the general gist of it, is its used for error trapping some sort of connector for technical services to check various devices or some stuff O_o not for us mere mortals

Interesting mod! But is there a diff btwn the 25KC08 and the 25KC08-N ? The first is cheaper and has a better sensivity.

In the beginning they sound helpful but after that they do not reply on e-mails and nothing happens. That’s why I had to get my speakers elsewhere.Where did you get your speakers? The only place I could find that would sell them is ELFA Electronics. Have you/has anyone done business with them and are they reputable?
February 25, 2009 at 5:34 pm #180423ragmanMemberThese seem like the same speakers which I suppose could be removed from their housings (meant for the Lenovo). Also appears to be only about $18 for a “set” which I take to mean two.

February 25, 2009 at 8:29 pm #180399FreddyMemberI got my speakers from ELFA, it’s an old reputable company and everything about my order went fine, very fast delivery also.

Got to the final price and it was ok at $18 per set. Shipping was also $18. Still seems like a decent price. When I get them I will post how easy/hard it was to separate them from their housing and if they work.
March 14, 2009 at 7:18 pm #180431NeilChillMemberLong time reader first time poster here, Had my white NC10 since December just finished upgrading the speakers with a pair from an IBM T41p laptop. I fix laptops in my spare time and came across these on a dead IBM t41p seemed roughly the same size, perhaps a few mm bigger. It’s taken abit of jiggery pokery to get the new ones in but the difference is outstanding. The new pair had to be removed from a plastic bar that IBM install them in which is easy enough to do, they are the perfect height for the sammy although i did have to cut a slight reccess in the lip that holds the old speakers in on the sammy chassis. (Wish i had taken pics now!). New ones are rated at 1.5w 8 Ohms each, dont even need the volume half way up now to listen to music and vids, and best of all they dont have that high pitched sqeak of the old ones, they seem to have deeped tones.
Recommend this to anyone, IBM T41p speakers can be found on ebay for next to nothing and it’s only a couple of hours work to get them in.
March 16, 2009 at 7:29 pm #180430spongey76MemberAs above, i too am a long term reader and this is one of my first posts. I got my nc10 as a birthday present, of which i was over the moon about, but not so excited about the quality of sound coming from the speakers.
I am very interested in getting some new speakers in my sammy but im not experienced in modding at all.
I’m not a technophobe and have a higher than average level of knowledge when it comes to computers etc, (im sure you can all relate to what i mean by this) but im worried that if i start pulling things apart im going to break something. What im really trying to find out is how hard/easy is this mod REALLY, would someone like my self be capable of doing this? if not is there somewhere i can take it to get it done? is there a complete noob tutorial to do this? I appreciate the pics on the first post of this thread but its not very detailed description. Any help would be very gratefull.
ThanksMarch 19, 2009 at 4:08 am #180438spike77777MemberNeilChill, I’m interested in gettting some of those IBM T41p speakers and replacing them as you have.
Is it possible you could take pictures of what you had to do to make them fit, also did the connector plug right in or did you have to splice the wires in?
Thanks…March 19, 2009 at 2:56 pm #180432NeilChillMemberI will take some pictures when i get the chance to crack it open again, The connector on the ibm speakers is exactly the same. Unfortunatly the cables are not the right lengh so you have to extend them. Personally i just cut the samsung speakers off there cable and soldered it to the ibm speakers. Since doing the mod i have noticed that at full volume the keyboard actually buzzes with vibration (they do go quite loud). I now find for everyday use just below half volume is perfect.
Will post some pictures soon.
March 20, 2009 at 5:13 am #180439spike77777MemberSounds great, I just ordered some off ebay and can’t wait to get them in. The stock speakers play loud enough for mp3 but don’t sound very well, most video playback is hard to hear. It will be nice to have to only have the volume up halfway and with better range.
Thanks for posting pix when you get the time.
March 25, 2009 at 10:13 pm #180440spike77777MemberNeilChill,
Got the IBM T41P speakers in, cut and soldered the new ones to the existing wires and managed to squeeze these in with some slight trimming.
Took maybe half an hour start to finish.
You’re right these do vibrate the keyboard at full volume but without distorting the sound.
Thanks for the suggestion and recommendation for the IBM model speakers, best $10 I’ve spent.
I’d highly recommend to anyone to make the replacement, makes it sound as good or close to any laptop I’ve heard.March 25, 2009 at 11:28 pm #180443RentonMemberHey guys, are the T41P speakers any different from the T40’s?
The T40’s are the only ones I can find here is Aus but I can’t find much info on these. thinkpad-parts.com suggests that these speakers fit the T40, 41 and 42 but I just want to make sure they are not too big for my (soon to arrive) Sammy.
The part number is FRU 91P8396, does this match up with the T41P speakers you guys have installed?
