Can anybody positively confirm that the Dell UT121 / Intel 4965 does NOT work with the NC10 ?It strangely doesnt even recognise it in the Device Manager .I know at least one other user reported this .
This is the second Dell Wireless N card I have tried to install in the NC10 without success. The other was a Dell DW1510 which installed and was recognised but the drivers wouldnt work .I tried at least 6 different drivers and it failed to recognise a connection!!
Maybe a list of the compatible network cards apart from the 5300 might be in order to save others the hassle .
Nope, doesn’t work.
You’ll notice that the wireless light doesn’t even come on when you first start the computer.
I bought an intel 5100, many people are buying 5300s. They do work.
Glad I read this. I was about to buy a 1505 card on eBay.
I bought a 5300 but found it unacceptable with my Wireless-N router
Note that the 4965AGN doesn’t work with the NC20 either. Same thing — doesn’t even show up in Device Manager.
Have a 5300 on order that should be here tomorrow. Hopefully it will fare better. The craptacular Atheros card won’t connect to my company’s network.
Does anyone know the Reason why this cards wont work?
they are locked for use in specific machines due to the wiring being a little different.
Wow so dell builds PCIe card outside of the PCIe specs… thats plain stupid if you ask me.
Thanks for the info Gav

I don’t know that it is necessarily Dell though,
many of their cards work fine and are simply re-branded anyway.
Hi
I purchased an Intel 5100 card through Dell and it works perfectly. It appears to be a bog standard Intel card, no Dell branding on it all and works with the Intel drivers.

Phil
